Abstract

Due to the lowering of barriers to entry and the greatly expanded potential for creating new services, many more participants and "end points" have emerged in recent years. The issue of how to deal with confidence and privacy in this novel setting emerges because many of them are new arrivals and may not last. In this article, we focus on the infrastructure connecting the end-points serviced by these actors, a crucial component of the design for enabling confidence and anonymity. We show an improved design for dependable interaction between real-world people, items, and services, enabled by a trusted underlying infrastructure.
