Abstract

Lots of research has looked at reinforced concrete beams with externally bonded fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) and how it contributes
to shear strength. Four current design guidelines for the shear contribution of reinforced concrete beams that use U-jacketing fiber-
reinforced polymer composites are compared in this paper using over 200 experimental results. The effects of shear span-to-effective
depth ratio, beam size, and stirrup ratio are considered. There is a strong correlation between the forecast accuracy of various design
standards and these three influencing elements. Thus, an improved shear strength model is suggested in this study that takes into account
the impact of shear span-to-effective depth ratio, beam size, and stirrup ratio. When it comes to predicting the shear contribution of fiber-
reinforced polymers, the suggested model is superior.
