Mechanical and Water Absorption Behaviour of Jute/Nano - Sio2 Reinforced Epoxy Composite

Abstract

The jute/nano - SiO2 reinforced epoxy composite was tested under tensile, impact, and water absorption tests. Optimum weight percentage / ratio of jute, nano – SiO2 and epoxy were determined. Nano-SiO2 was combined with jute and epoxy to increase mechanical properties. This study shows that addition of 2% nano – SiO2 in jute/epoxy composite results increasing the mechanical property and decreasing the moisture absorption property.
